[Installation]

Plattform
PHProjekt is written in PHP 4 and supports mysql, postgres, sqlite, oracle, informix or ms-sql

PHP and mysql or postgres are like PHProjekt released under an open source licence.

PHProjekt works with various operating systems, such as Linux, Windows, Unix, OS/2, Solaris ...
and many webserver like Apache, IIS, Sambar etc.

System requirements:
PHP4 must be installed on the webserver with access to a SQL database.
PHProjekt with all versions of PHP4/5, only if you want to receive mails with the mail client you have to install the imap extension (a library) of php.
A typical enviroment is a LAMP or WAMP System (Linux or Windows / Apache / MySQL / PHP)
The user only needs a browser (e.g. FF, IE or Opera).

Environment test:
If you are not sure whether your system meets the necessary requirements you can a run script with system check: env_test.php located in the root directory of the distribution.

Installation:
- Create a new blank database, - unpack the files -be sure to leave the directory structure of the package- in a directory of the webserver (e.g. htdocs/phprojekt) - call setup.php in the browser, this script will guide you through the rest of the installation. - Actions during the setup: and the tables in the database will be created and the file config.inc.php will be written.

If you use a mysql RDBM and wish to install the tool by yourself, download the sql dump here: sql_dump.tar.gz, insert the dump into the database and edit the config.inc.php according to your needs.
